The Flower of Fire Katana earns its name in the forge, not the paint shop. Swirling Damascus layers run the length of the blade like fire caught mid-bloom, and because the pattern comes out of the folding process itself, no two blades leave the anvil looking quite the same.

Why Damascus Steel Changes Everything

This is a hand-forged blade in patterned Damascus steel with a high-quality carbon steel build and a full tang running the whole length of the handle. The ripples sit in the metal rather than on it: they catch the light differently at every angle and they will not wear off, which is why this piece lives in our high-end range.

The Numbers That Matter

  • Overall length: 105 cm (41 in)
  • Blade: 72 cm (28 in) long, 3.2 cm (1.2 in) wide, 0.7 cm (0.27 in) thick
  • Handle: 30 cm (11.8 in), cotton ito wrapped over synthetic rayskin
  • Fittings: iron tsuba and matching cotton sageo
  • Edge: optional sharpening, chosen by variant
  • Suited to: collection, non-contact practice and flame-themed cosplay

Where It Fits on the Stand

Fire wants a foil. The Blue Dragon Katana in T10 steel gives you the cool-toned counterpoint on a two-sword display, or you can spec your own colours and fittings through our custom katana service. The full katana collection runs from entry pieces up to Damascus work like this one.

Made to Order for Australian Collectors

Every Flower of Fire is forged on demand at our partner workshop in Longquan, China's historic sword-making city. Allow 5 to 20 business days for forging and assembly, followed by tracked delivery anywhere in Australia. Any customs duties or GST on arrival are set by Australian authorities, not by us. Full details are in our shipping policy.

Straight Answers

Are swords like this legal to own in Australia?

Rules vary by state and territory, so it pays to check before you order. Our Australian katana law guide breaks it down region by region.

Can I choose whether the blade arrives sharp?

Yes. Sharpening is optional and set by the variant you pick at checkout. The full tang construction is identical either way.
