The Rong Wu Katana, listed in our range as the Wooden Mountain (Carbon Steel 1060), is the quiet piece in the lineup. Warm timber wraps the handle and saya, engraved brass sits at the habaki, and a sharpened 1060 carbon steel blade runs underneath it all. Nothing here shouts. The colour of the wood carries the whole design, and that restraint honours an older way of building swords.

The Numbers That Matter

  • Overall length: 105 cm (41 in)
  • Blade: 72 cm (28 in) of sharpened 1060 carbon steel
  • Blade width: 3.2 cm (1.2 in)
  • Blade thickness: 0.7 cm (0.27 in)
  • Handle: 30 cm (11.8 in) in wood, with a matching wooden saya
  • Build: full tang, engraved brass habaki, brass fittings

Full tang means the steel continues through the entire grip instead of stopping at a stub, which is what separates a sword you can hold with confidence from a wall-hanger. That construction is why this piece works for collection display, cosplay, and traditional forms practice alike.

Forged When You Order

Each Rong Wu is made to order at our partner forge in Longquan. Allow 5 to 20 business days for forging and finishing, then tracked delivery to your address anywhere in Australia. Customs duties or GST can apply on arrival; those charges are set by Australian authorities, not by us. The full rundown lives in our shipping policy.

Where It Sits on the Rack

Natural timber is an uncommon look at this level. If you want to compare before committing, the Akita Katana is built on the same 1060 carbon steel, while the Black Blade Katana heads the opposite direction with a darker treatment. Our full katana collection covers everything in between.
