The Third Kitetsu, Made for Australian Collectors

Every blade in the Kitetsu line is said to carry a curse, and the Sandai Kitetsu is the one Roronoa Zoro refused to fear. In a Loguetown weapon shop he sent it spinning above his own outstretched arm, and the falling steel spared him. The Straw Hats' swordsman walked out with a Wazamono grade katana and his arm intact.

Our replica keeps the essentials honest: 1060 carbon steel, full tang construction, 105 cm overall with a 72 cm blade, and the red colour scheme carried through ito, sageo and saya.

Measurements and Fittings

  • Blade: 72 cm (28 in) of 1060 carbon steel, 3.2 cm (1.2 in) wide and 0.7 cm (0.27 in) thick
  • Overall length: 105 cm (41 in), with a 30 cm (11.8 in) handle
  • Full tang running the length of the grip
  • Red cotton ito wrapped over synthetic rayskin, matching red sageo
  • Traditional iron tsuba
  • Edge: unsharpened by default, sharpening optional (variant)
  • Ships with its matching red saya

The Weakest Kitetsu Is Still a Kitetsu

Sandai means "third", and this sword ranks below the two elder Kitetsu blades. It still earned Wazamono grade, and it has served in Zoro's three-sword Santoryu ever since that gamble in Loguetown. The curse that supposedly ruins every wielder never collected on him.

Rounding Out a Three-Sword Rack

Collectors often pair the Sandai Kitetsu with the Black Enma or Kozuki Oden's Amenohabakiri, and the full line-up lives in our One Piece katana collection.

Ordering in Australia

Each Sandai Kitetsu is made to order in our partner forge in Longquan. Allow 5 to 20 business days for the smiths to finish your sword, then tracked delivery to your door anywhere in Australia. Duties or GST can apply on arrival, set by Australian authorities; details in our shipping policy. Unsure how your state treats sword ownership? Our Australian katana law guide covers it.

Quick Answers

Does it arrive sharp? Only if you choose the sharpened variant. The standard edge is unsharpened, which is what most display collectors pick.

Can it handle cutting practice? The 1060 carbon steel takes an edge well and stays flexible enough to resist breakage, so a sharpened example manages light cutting practice. Most owners keep it on display.
